Random Five Friday...on Saturday

Napali Coastline/Kauai

RANDOM FIVE FRIDAY...ON SATURDAY
(better late than never...in my opinion...I use that excuse for work, too)

1.   The above photo is the first stop on my bucket list...one day hopefully not to far off.

2.   I recently got to see the Eagles in concert at Bethel Woods, formerly Woodstock. GREAT SHOW!

3.  I have experienced a soul awakening...no really, and the Universe is having a conversation with me! It has given me great peace and great joy!

4.  I have no idea where all these clothes have come from, that nobody seems to be wearing, yet they keep ending up in the laundry pile...again...and again...so now, they are off to Goodwill.

5.  I am on a mission...a mission of true happiness.  It feels wonderful!

Thanks Nancy for hosting...

Sneak Peak ~ Art Journal Hop

Recently, I started an Art Journal Hop/Swap with a group of 9 Talented Chics...some of the gals of the Arty Tea Party Guild.  Each participant started their own book, and passed it on to the next in the group (alphabetically) to work on.  We gave ourselves 1 month to complete a spread, before it passes to the next person.  At the end, we each will receive our own Art Journal Book back with the beautiful artwork added from everyone.  So far so good!!!

The Original Title page kept as is...appropriate for an Art Journal, I thought!

Art Journal HOP

Rosebud's ART JOURNAL

A while back I won a bunch of goodies to start an ART JOURNAL SWAP...I called it a HOP, though.
Our first exchange took place, and this is the spread I added to Sandy Rosebud's book.  Everyone knows she is all about pink and lace....several layers of paints, papers, rubber stamps, images, yarn, ribbon, buttons...and doodles...and it is now off to Victoria...next in line, to add her little bit.

When it is all said and done, each of the 10 artists will get their own book back with everyone's art included!  I can hardly wait...I will post my entire book when I get it back.  For more on the ART JOURNAL SWAP/HOP...visit here.Traveling Art Journal

I thought it was quite fitting to send me bee earrings on a bird card...BIRDS AND BEES...FLOWERS...TREES and the moon up above...

well, you get it!

I will wear these with my new HONEYBEE shirt!

Art Journal "HOP"

OK, so this is not a picture of my book that has just been "swapped" in the Round Robin Art Journal "HOP".  But, it is a beautiful photo of the lovely purple crocus that definitely tells us that SPRING HAS SPRUNG...YAY!!!

So, about the Art Journal "HOP".  A while back I won a sack of art goodies from the ladies of the JOY IN THE POST BLOG PARTY.  I rounded up 10 of my local Arty Tea Party friends and we each chose our own book to "alter" and swap around the group of 10.  The 1st swap took place last Saturday, and we now have 1 month to complete a spread in the book we have received.  I will post photos as I get them done.  This will continue until each of the 10 books makes its way throughout the entire group, and your own book ends up back in your hands with original artwork from each of your "HOP" swappers.  But check out the original post and look up the gals from the giveaway.  They are awesome!

Random 5 Friday (on Saturday) oops...

I am joining Nancy at A Rural Journal for Random 5 Friday.  This is my first time, and because Friday was just one of those days, well, here it is Saturday for my post.

1.  I am happy that it is finally Spring here in the Northeast United States...however, while sunny this morning, it is still quite cold with 20 degree nights.  Now what is with that?

2.  I love living in the woods.  It is peaceful, with an abundance of wildlife surrounding us.  My favorite wild things are the owls that keep watch over my home from the tall, tall trees, the deer that always keep my dog in a tizzy, and soon the summer peepers will put out a constant buzz that you don't seem to notice as it is always there.

3.  I belong to a group of talented chics and we meet once a month at a different location to share our creative talents, techniques and ideas.  This week, we made Soy Candles

Arty Tea Party

4.   I am anxiously awaiting the postcards from the LYA Postcard Swap.  They should start arriving this week.  See my previous post for a peek at mine.

5.  AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... I HAVE THE DAY OFF TODAY!!!  And I am going with my group of talented friends to set up a corner of a new shop with our arts/crafts/wares...oh and to take my daughter dress shopping for her Senior Ball.  JOY!

Happy Spring and have a great, creative weekend!

Aloha!

LIBERATE YOUR ART POSTCARD SWAP 2013

This is my set of postcards for the

Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap 2013 hosted by Kat Sloma!

Original with acrylics, oils, inks, sprays, white-out pen...FUN!

The original artwork was from the DOODLES UNLEASHED workshop I did

last year with Traci Bautista sponsored by Strathmore.   I had several copies made

onto glossy card stock paper, and then cut out six 4" x 6" postcards.

Also made the envie to send them off in!  I can hardly wait to see the

ones I get back via the good old USPS!!!

SPRING HAS FINALLY SPRUNG!  REJOICE!
