LIBERATE YOUR ART BLOG PARTY...YAY!

Meet Dante...

This is my 5th year in the LIBERATE YOUR ART POSTCARD SWAP, hosted by the ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS KAT SLOMA of KATEYESTUDIO!  I have all the postcards that I have received over the years displayed in my art studio.  They all bring me JOY!
In my previous post, you can see Dante on my decked out envie that carried my postcards cross-country to Kat!

My first postcard reminds us to "BE IN THE MOMENT"...for in a moment, life can change!  A very cool collage by Mary Claire from Chicago!

Postcard # 2 is a lovely black and white photograph taken at the Florida Botanical Gardens of very big bamboo!  All carved up by visitors who did not heed the sign that said...
"PLEASE DO NOT CARVE THE BAMBOO"...lol!  This card is from Elissa, in Kat's town of Portland OR, who unfortunately did not have her pocket knife on her this day!  Guess you'll just have to go back again:)

Postcard # 3 arrived from the Greek Island of Dodecanese, Rhodes and has a wonderful message for all artists.  Margea says, "Find something you love and never let go!"

# 4 in the swap is from Darlene. This postcard reminded me that I have a wonderful collection of old cameras.  Hope you will pop in to visit Darlene for abit of her Peace, Love and Photography!

Postcard # 5 hails from Susan in South Florida.  Like me, Susan loves the color purple, and this flow painting project looks like it was great fun to create!

And of course, last but not least...a gem among gems (rock crystals) is from our WONDERFUL HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST...KAT SLOMA!  Thank you, Kat for bringing us all together here, from all over the world, to share our individual love of art and creativity!
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

A few side swaps that I received...

This is Plum, official greeter in "forget me not forest" at
Two Crow Cottage, home of  HAPPY HERBS SOAP by Nina!

From Peggy Choate, who has just published an Adult Coloring Book, entitled LOTUS TRIP!  How wonderful!

This lovely work of art is from Terry Owenby.  A paper thin vintage hanky, hand-stitched to a pink linen tablecloth.  My, my!

Mail art is great fun!

With much Aloha to one and all...thank you for stopping by!

LIberate Your Art Postcard Swap 2017

This is my postcard for the
Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap 2017, my 5th year,
hosted by Kat Eye Studio
I made them from a mixed media piece
done for a challenge...that I won btw.

This is my decked out envie that was
featured on Kat's blog for the swap. YAY!

And here we go with the ones I received...
Postcard # 1 titled "FLORAL CHALLENGE" comes
from Linda Ursin in Norway, where she made
this work of art into apparel, home decor and even phone cases.

My postcard # 2 hails from Ireland! This acrylic painting titled, "MOSS STONE" is from Jacinta. I just had to sneak out into my woods to find this perfect stone to display it. You can find the original painting here www.jmirishart.wordpress.com

Postcard # 3 is from Janet McQueen in Manitoba, Canada. This digital painting is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
Titled: "Pigeon Feeder in Covent Gardens, London".

You can find this and more of her work at jmcqueenphoto.com
I LOVE IT!

Well, well...my postcard # 4 is from my BFF Nina,
from Happy Herbs Soap @ Two Crow Cottage, right here in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York. And since I frequent her gardens regularly, it seemed fitting to stage her wonderful postcard on the very gear that is featured in her postcard.
How cool is that?
I love it here! You can find her great soap, incense and oils on Etsy!

My soulful # 5 postcard is from Kathy McIntire of Solsisterstudio in Little River, SC. And since Spring has finally sprung,
I ventured out into the sunshine to catch some rays.

The pièce de ré·sis·tance is from the wonderful host of the swap,
Kat Sloma of Kat Eye Studio, where you can learn everything you need to know about iPhone Photography.  Check it out!
THANK YOU KAT FOR ANOTHER
WONDERFUL POSTCARD SWAP!

LIBERATE YOUR ART POSTCARDS

RADIANCE by Ellery Lewis

1.  Ellery describes this beauty..."inspired by the pattern of douglas fir cone scales, really cool that the dry, dead-looking cones contain the ability to give life to new trees".  WONDERFUL!

NEW YORK - BULL in ink by Diane McWhirter
2.  This from Diane:  "Many things inspire me and I think that for every piece of art created there is someone, somewhere just waiting to love it.  You just have to believe they will find each other".

Now what I love about this piece all the way from Canberra, Australia, is that she is exactly right about a piece finding the right person, because I live in New York, and my sign is Taurus the Bull!

LAVENDER by Terry Owenby
 3.  I just love this wonderful collage inspired by a wonderful bar of lavender soap gifted to Terry by her sister.  She even used pieces of the box that the soap came in, along with a very cool item that I absolutely love, vintage book binding cloth.  Inspired me to delve into a collage of my own using some of my stash.

Mediterranean Sea - Corsica, France  by Cindy Chilton
4.  This very scenic spot that I can only dream of visiting in person someday, was sent in by Cindy who can be found at seriouslylaughterminded.blogspot.com

by Kristen Playford
5.  This lovely photo postcard was taken by Kristen's house in SW Portland, and it looks like an invitation to ADVENTURE!  Thank you, Kristen!

HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST, BY KAT

6.   The  pièce de résistance is this autumn colored branch by the one and only Kat Sloma, the Hostess of the Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap.  A huge undertaking for Kat and her terrific peeps, so please stop by to say THANK YOU!!!

And these are the ones I sent out...OLD MAN WINTER!
Hope you are all enjoying the swap and the hop.  And if you happen to receive one of mine, please do drop me a line to let me know!

ALOHA

MAIL ART...AGAIN!

It's that glorious time again for LIBERATE YOUR ART POSTCARD SWAP 2015!!!

A swap friend, Kelly recommended MOO to print postcards from my own photos, and since old
man winter is clinging to us here in the Northeast, I decided to go with an old winter scene.

For more information on LYA 2015 visit Kat to see all the hard work that goes into such a large swap with over 200 participants. This is my 3rd year, and I can hardly wait!!!

Hope you all get yours in on time!!!  And please let me know if you receive one of mine in the swap.
It's always nice to know where they end up.
