Old Man Winter

1.  Old man winter has a hold on us, and I don't mind.  The country road of home is vibrant in all four of the beautiful seasons that Mother Nature bestows upon us.

2.  I sit in front of the woodstove, with a giant bowl of Pistachio Almond ice cream.  It's my latest fave.  In the summertime my fave is Black Raspberry.
Click here for my daughter's fave...Ice Cream.

3.  There seems to be a few lingering Christmas ornaments that fell down in between the couch cushions when in a frenzy, I just starting yanking them off without putting them in their proper boxes.  A flattened snowman, and a lonely angel are looking for all their friends;)

4.  The After Christmas Tree is out in the woods adorned with popcorn and apple slices covered in peanut butter and birdseed for our fine feathered friends.

5.  I bought my daughter a very nice gift certificate for a spa...she may not get it.  Could be mine, all mine...

Linking up with Random 5 FridayFriday Fences and Weekend in Black and White.  Stop by to say "HEY".  Have a terrific weekend!

ALOHA

  5. wow, what a gorgeous photo ~!!~ how lucky you are to have this kind of scenery nearby.

we have no snow at all. none. nada. this is not the norm and our drought conditions continue to get worse. it's cold although not as cold as usual. a strange winter.

i think it's awesome that you make sure that the birds have some food and do it in such a lovely way.

  6. I gave up dairy quite some time ago, but my husband enjoys his ice cream each evening -- I need to replenish his stash in the freezer often so he doesn't run out. :)

  8. Just love the after christmas tree! Great idea!
I have great momories of making pistaccio ice cream on the back patio at grandmas with my Uncle Mark. We used one of those hand crank makers.

  9. Hula,
I like your winter shot. We hare in the middle of a January thaw. I would take cold over extreme wind any day.

A good bowl of ice cream is a treat. I make my own and am addicted.

I hope you get a few shots of you fine feathered friends, sounds like you have a great idea to lure them in.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend knitting, reading and blogging! You are right about more hours in the day. If I catch the cleaning fairy I will send her your way.

  10. I adore this picture and I love snow! What part of the country do you live in? We don't get much of snow in Texas but I'm visiting my sister in Indiana right now so I got to see a little bit yesterday. It's gone now. I'm hoping for a few rounds at home in the next month or two since it is a colder winter. In the mean time, I'll look forward to your pics! Thanks for sharing.

    1. The snow is falling again, very beautiful today. More photo ops for sure here in the northeast...upstate New York. Have a friend in Texas who was worried about the recent freeze temps there in Houston...had to wrap the pipes. I love the change of seasons. Winter and Autumn are my faves. OK, love them all! Aloha

  16. This is a gorgeous snowy scene. I just love it! Is it in New York? I too live in New York. Nothing as beautiful as freshly fallen snow on the trees.
Thank you for your kind comment on my tag over at Artistic Outpost. I used to swap but I got burned once after I shipped off my art. After that I decided not to participate in anymore swaps. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

  21. Jan. 23

I love finding someone, who is not moaning about Spring. Some one who is saying that Old Man Winter has a hold on us, and she doesn't mind. I love it!

I'm not a fan of this time of year. But it is part of the 4 Seasons, and I am a fan of the 4 Seasons. So, I have to take this cold, snowy, icy part too.

And I do not like wishing any time away. If people can't "wait" till Spring, aren't they wishing time away? -sigh-

So thank you for this post.

    Tessa~

  22. That picture is gorgeous! If you sell your photos, I'd love to have a copy that could be framed. I love looking at snow.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm not sure how you found it as I'm not registered at the Grow Your Blog party, but I'm glad you did. I'm still working my way through the 0-50's.
