What...no snow?

I was looking forward to the great snow of the year...and here in New York STATE, not NYC, we got NOTHING!  Totally bummed out about that because we were prepared!  Everywhere in surrounding states and local towns got tons of snow!  And since there is no snow to shovel, or build a cool snowman with, or snow fort which I love to do, complete with a snowseat with a spot to put your beer down, complete with candles to enjoy at night, I spent some time checking out some new blogs.  And above is what I found at Leonie Wise.

It's a great manifesto for good wholesome living, wouldn't you say?  So, until we get clobbered with snow, which we most assuredly will before winter is over, I will snoop around the internet to find some new blogs to inspire me!  Oh, and I think I will get out a box of crayons and color!

If you know of a good one, remember, "it's nice to share"!

Randomness

Art Journal Hop/Swap
1.  This is the beginnings of my page in Lucy's book for the Art Journal Hop/Swap.  It took me forever.  It's all about passion...RED AND HOT!  It even has feathers...ooo la la!  Finished it but forgot to take a picture before I passed it on to the next contributor.

2.  I'm so very glad that it is Friday. I am looking forward to hibernate this weekend before the baby little goes back to college.  Deep breath here because it has been very nice to have everyone under the same roof...most of the time!

3.  It's a winter wonderland out there with a surprise snowfall overnight. Another 2 inches.  Still putting Christmas away.  Don't like this part because the lights look wonderful in the snow.

4.  Finally put new tires on the vehicle for I have been sliding all over town.  And while as a kid I remember saying to my Dad, "yay, do it again" when sliding all over in bad weather, definitely not into it now.

5.  Guess we have to watch football without my team...STEELERS...and I'm totally bummed about that.

Linking up for Random 5 Friday with Nancy and the gang.  Please stop by to say "HEY"!!!

TOO COLD TUESDAY...

Frigid frost on my panes
Yes, it is TOOOOOO cold out there to enjoy the beauty of winter!  And as I venture out to the local day care to tell snowman stories, I smile at the innocence of the littles.  A young girl began to cry when I read about the BIGGEST BEST SNOWMAN, and she blurted out..."my snowman died...the rain killed it".    Yes, we went from a snowstorm with 7 degree temps, to a balmy 31, then to a 50 degree torrential downpour with high winds...only to be back today at 4 stinking degrees producing a lovely frosty vision on my very old windows.
Well, well.

My newest altered book adventure will be one made of salvaged bookends, and they will include the little quips and stories I gather from the littles at storytime, beginning with...THE DAY MY SNOWMAN DIED.  I will title this altered book, "Out Of The Mouths Of Babes".  The sweet and the innocent.

Winter Envie Swap 2013

Decorated Envelopes
These are 2 of my decorated envelopes for a "Winter Themed Envie Swap" with the Arty Tea Party Guild that I belong to.  The Christmas tree is holding on to them for dear life, as we are not quite ready for the whole Christmas scene to disappear.  Though we are bound to get more snow to make the winter season bright.  (Until the sand and salt turn it into a yucky, slushy mess...tis the season.)

Honolulu bound...ALOHA!
The envie on the right is headed for Honolulu Hawaii and a special person who is no doubt enjoying something cold on the beach.   Perhaps one day they will get to the northeast to experience real cold and winter.  Then again, that's probably why they live in a tropical paradise...no cold...no snow!
(check out the Alaska Iditirod Postage Stamp...)
...let it snow, man...

Let It Snow...Man

Well, it's a good thing we love the snow here:)  Another 7 inches or so, no school, no work...a wonderful day to play in the art studio!

The wood stove is burning hot~and so is Nina's incense.  Candles are lit all over the house as the wind picks up.  IT'S ALL GOOD!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!
