Baby, It's Cold Outside...

1.  Yes, tis the season for snow!  And I love it!  Though the bitter cold is sometimes hard to bear...
Luckily, the wood stove is doing its job radiating heat throughout.  Of course, all the warm woolen socks that Santa brought helps.

 2.   The Ukulele Club that I joined performed at the annual Toys for Tots drive in our little town.  Santa was very surprised when he showed up to hear "Here Comes Santa Claus" on ukuleles.  He joined right in to sing and ring his jingle bells.  What FUN!!!

3.  This Christmas was quite different than the usual traditional hoopla with friends and family lighting 200 luminaries in town on Christmas Eve for all to see as they leave church, or drive by to make it to their destination with Christmas cheer in their hearts.  While we still managed to light the luminaries at our home, we sneaked into town and left the sand-filled candle bags on the doorstep for others to light on their own.  Funny, how even though they weren't home, they knew immediately it was us, Santa's fave elves, who had left them.  JOY ALL AROUND!!!

4.  As I started up the vehicle to trek to work this cold, wintry morn, the sun was shining and the Allman Brothers song, Blue Sky came on here you have it!!!  Enjoy!

5.  TGIF!!!  Thank goodness it's Friday!  Yes, indeed, it's been a whirlwind of a Christmas week, but I am happy to say that it was truly a relaxing and peaceful time.  The spirit of Christmas is within all of us, no matter what religion or christian faith you believe in.  We are one!

Linking up today with Nancy at A Rural Journal and Skywatch Friday and Friday Fences.

  1. a ukulele club that sounds like such fun!! i bet it sounds just lovely. "music to my ears". i am wishing for snow around here. nothing but flakes one day - no clue what the future holds. ( :

  2. It seems like a whirlwind of a week here too. Actually, a whirlwind month. It seems like it's flown by in the blink of an eye! We've been talking around here about how it didn't seem like Christmas on Christmas day. It's hard to believe it's over and almost New Years Day. Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Lovely blue skies! Wishing you a very happy New Year:-)

  4. That is a beautiful deep blue sky! Speaking of ukuleles, my husband and I just returned from a Hawaiian cruise and there were ukulele lessons aboard ship as we were at sea. But I chose to take hula lessons instead. Both groups, ukulele students and hula students, performed on the ship's stage after 4 lessons---it was a blast!

  5. my step-son has a red ukulele. He loves to play it! That is a lot of snow! We don't have more than a dusting in on the north shore of Boston...but we will have a lot more than that before winter is over.

  6. That would be so fun to see a community join together with lighting luminaries! Must have been pretty :)

  7. Beautiful! And such gorgeous blue skies! I love that the Ukulele Club played for the Toys for Tots event! That is classic! And how wonderful to have the Allman Brothers Blue Skies play on such a gorgeous drive! Love that song! A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours! Nicole

  8. I would LOVE to see and listen to a Ukelele club! How fun!
