Ukulele Mania

Yes, I can hear the ukuleles calling me...
 1.  I am loving my new C1K Martin Concert Ukulele...and I am honoring my beautiful island Mama by learning Mele Kalikimaka for the holiday season.  My siblings are just gonna die when they get a load of my gig!  Aloha...

2. Did you know there is a Ukulele Orchestra???  I did not.  Check it out.  Ukulele Orchestra

 3.  With the changing of the seasons, it seems the craft projects change right along with it.  Out come the knitting needles and the stash of yarn that gets shoved aside when the 90-100 degree temps roll in.

Heading south???
4.  We've had some 20 degree nights here, and the birds are preparing for flight.  Though today it is back up into the 50's.

 5.  I am doing a makeover of my daughter's bedroom before she comes home from college for TURKEY DAY!  Funny thing, since she's not here, everyone seems to gravitate towards this new empty space.  I even set up a nice place in there to play my uke.  She'll be soooo thrilled...

Linking up today with A Rural Journal and Friday Fences.

  4. Soon you will have your own ukulele orchestra. There has been one here for more than 60 years. Not the same members of course.

  11. What a beautiful instrument - would love to hear you in concert!
Oh am in such need to get into two daughters bedrooms, but need more than a makeover, probably in need of pest control... Here in Australia these kids don't leave home for college! Still I expect you are all looking forward to Turkey Day.

  12. Ha! I laughed that your daughter's bedroom will be a surprise when she returns home. I guess that happens to just about every family. ;)

  14. I play guitar, but I've never tried a Uke. Have you heard Over the Rainbow played on a Ukulele? It is stunning.
I just popped over from my buddy Keith's Optimistic Existentialists' blog.

  15. I am almost 75, and this year I am asking Santa for a Ukulele. I have wanted one all of my life. Hope I have been good enough this year to receive one. genie

  16. Beautiful Christmas scene. Nice and snowy. Thanks for the sweet things you said about the Christmas presents I made. Am still working on the leftover trees and making them into a banner or two. Still have my fingers crossed for the ukulele. genie
